Modern implant designs and new implant surfaces allow the rehabilitation of atrophic jaws in almost all clinical situations. In the maxilla, the presence of the maxillary sinus or previous diseases can leave a minimal amount of residual bone. New techniques allow minimally invasive approaches, with fewer sequelae and better patient acceptance.
