Horizontal bone atrophy could make implant placement more complex in some patients. A number of alternatives have been proposed to solve these cases, such as GBR, block grafts or ridge splitting techniques, among others. The development of narrow implants has made it possible to significantly optimize and simplify the treatment protocol for narrow ridges. In this lecture the key points to achieve a successful result are reviewed.
